The news is just in. Red headed Hawk fan Favorite, Josh Thurgood, delisted earlier in the preseason from the Senior Hawks list has been given a second chance being redrafted by the Hawks in the Preseason draft.
Josh started on the Hawks rookie list and was elevated for the 2005 season in which he played 9 games in 2005 and a further 2 in 2006 including 1 goal.
There has never been any question that Josh has the courage to play AFL footy but sometimes his courage is almost his own worst enemy. He had injury trouble in both his years including getting smashed by Matthew Lloyd and missing a lot of footy. There have also been question marks on his body and the need to add weight to his frame.
Still to come (at this time) is the rookie draft and it will be interesting to see if the Hawks try to slip another one or two of their discards (Brennan or Miller) back on via the Rookie draft.
Good Luck for Next year to Josh.
