Video – Roughy and Lowden interviewed by Dipper – Hawks 2011 Family Day

DSC04559

So my family and I wandered down to the Hawks 2011 Family say that was back at Glen Ferrie Oval, in Hawthorn. The day was more compact then I remember (3 hours instead of 4 or 5) and I liked it. There was a great turn out, so much so there were large lines to get into the ground. Seemed to be a lot to do but I parked myself infront of the stage for Player interviews and the presentation (although I sadly report the need to lineup and get the kids ice creams meant I missed Brucey and Buddy’s interviews). So there will be a few videos (including the next one that will contain the clubs big announcement). But lets kick things off with a couple of interviews. Your Interviewer is the big Dipper and the subjects of the interviews are Jarryd Roughead and Luke Lowden!

Round 2, NAB Cup 2010 – Hawks vs Western Bulldogs

Second round of the NAB Cup sees our might Hawks take on last years preliminary finalist, The Bulldogs. Last time we played them, they flogged us at the dome. Also in this 2nd round game last year, we had the key injury for the year of Gilham. Lets hope for another good game and a good win!

Hawks 2010 Family Day at Waverly Park

The Hawks will be holding their annual Family day on the 28th of February 2010. They are helping to overcome the parking problem that large events at Waverly have by running a shuttle bus service from Monash Uni. Activities on the day include live entertainment including Bob the Builder for the kids, Skills and drills with the players, face painting, spinning wheel and of course, Hawka!
At 2:30pm the players will be introduced to the crowd and there will be speachers by coach Alastair Clarkson, Captain Sam Mitchell and I am sure, Jeff Kennett!
For more information, please check out the clubs page!

Christmas with the Hawks

071216-1401-14 This year the Hawks are doing something a bit different with there yearly Christmas event. They have done a lot of different things over the years from having their own evening and carol to having a clinic and even a cricket game.

This year they are further developing their relationship with the eastern suburban community and are joining forces with the City of Monash to be involved with their Carols by Candlelight. Here are the details:

Events details:
City of Monash – Carols by Candlelight
Sunday 20 December 2009
Jells Park, Wheelers Hill
Entry – Free
Times:
4-7pm    Hawks Kids Zone
7-8pm    Pre show children’s entertainment on the main stage
8pm        Main carols to commence
10pm      Fireworks finale (weather conditions permitting)

The Hawks list some of the activities on the day as being:

  • Skills and drills with Hawks players
  • An appearance by Hawka
  • Merchandise
  • Membership
  • Animal farm
  • Face painting
  • Jumping castle

One of the things that a lot of people are disappointed with is that won’t be any player signing sessions but I am sure the other things will be a alot of fun and the Carols sound like a lot of fun too!

Might see you there.

Video: Hawks 2007 Family Day – Jumper Presentation

We are days away from the Mighty Hawks playing there first game in the 2007 season and I finally have what many of you think is the most important video from the Hawks family day, the Players Jumper Presentation. Again, I am not a professional and in fact in this video I have my son on my shoulders (so he could see) and so between his leg crapping and my arm getting tired from holding the camera up for about a half hour, not to mention people in front of me, the video is a bit jumpy but I think you will get to see your favourite players.

Enjoy

Video: Hawks 2007 Family Day – Jeff Kennett speech

The second video in my series from the 2007 Hawthorn Family day is our President, Jeff Kennett. Jeff is a great speaker and this speech is no difference.

Hawks 2007 Family Day – Brad Sewell interview

The 2007 Family day was a big day with estimated 5000 people in attendence. I was very impressed with the entertainment put on during the day. One of the highlights was an interview with Brad Sewell conducted by Shane Crawford. Here is a video of it. Please excuse the shakeyness, I am not the greatest camera operator.
